Country Music Packs Out Cityplace with Justin Moore and Tom Jackson Downtown West Palm

Thanks, WIRK, CityPlace and Budweiser for a great evening of country music!

Country music makes many references to God and prayer, so thanks to the heavenly realm is also probably appropriate, since the weather report and the skies promised thunderstorms and torrential rain, which providentially held off until after the end of the great show.

Tom Jackson opened with full instrumentation and great covers and originals, which illustrate why he’s a rising country artist.  The plaza in front of the fountain was packed from Rosemary to the storefronts, with the upper floor filled with listeners also.

Jackson played a full hour, and then Justin Moore took the stage with his acoustic guitar and serenaded the enthusiastic crowd for another hour.  Despite some minor problems with borrowed guitars, he showed why his “new traditional” country is taking the country music scene by storm.

The crowd was not as easily defined as you might think… shouting enthusiastically in unison with the “Rednecks from Loxahatchee” were “Dreadnecks” and well-pierced/tattooed fans you might think to find at a Respectibles alt/punk show.

We are constantly amazed at the depth and breadth of musical listening (and playing) opportunities there are in West Palm.  And many of them are free! Top tier country acts like Justin Moore and others brought in by WIRK and CityPlace (and there’s more like that to come this summer, promised WIRK), Reggae, Rock, Blues and Alternative music at Clematis By Night, Tribute Acts at Sunday at the Waterfront, Friday Jazz at the Palm (on Clematis) — West Palm Rocks as a music scene (or should we say Swings?  Grooves? Boogies?)

Thanks again for bringing Justin Moore to West Palm, to all who helped by sponsoring this!
